Vention Medical has scooped up Fast Forward Medical, a Plymouth, Minn., manufacturer of catheters used in minimally invasive medical procedures.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Vention, based in South Plainfield, N.J., said the acquisition would further its line of products, which includes medical balloons, catheters, multi-layer extrusions, heat shrink tubing, polyimide and micro-tubing for a variety of catheter assemblies and minimally invasive medical devices.
Vention CEO Dan Croteau called the Minneapolis area “a strategic region.”
“We are excited to partner with this talented team of experienced industry experts as they continue to lead the Fast Forward business and enhance our advanced components offering,” Croteau said in a news release.
Brady Hatcher, co-founder and principal at Fast Forward Medical, said Vention’s advanced polymer balloon technologies and global footprint, fit with his company’s strategy of providing customers from services ranging from design to manufacturing.
Vention expanded in 2011 with the purchase of Atek Medical Group of Grand Rapids, Mich, a medical contract manufacturer with plants in the United States and Costa Rica. In the previous year Vention merged with medical heat-shrink tubing and catheter balloon producer Advanced Polymers Inc. of Salem, N.H. The latter deal launched Vention into the catheter-based market.
Earlier this year Vention acquired RiverTech Medical LLC, which specialized in polyimide tubing, braided polyimide, composite tubing and wire coatings for medical devices. |
